"Hello everyone,
My name is Cassidy, and I am currently a sophomore in college majoring in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology. I’m on the Fairmont State Swim Team and I’ve been swimming competitively since the age of 10. I joined the Martinsburg Marlins at 8 years old, and I’ve remained involved with the team ever since, both as a swimmer and a coach.
During my high school career, I set 8 school records and since swimming at the collegiate level, I’ve had the opportunity to final in some events during our conference championships meet. I’m looking forward to another fun summer. I’m excited to see all of our returning swimmers and anxious to meet all the new Marlins. We’re going to have a fantastic season together!
See you on the pool deck."
Hello!
My name is Maree Dieterich and I will be your Masters Coach for this summer! I have been involved in competitive swimming and aquatics for 9 years. I swam at Hedgesville High School and then swam for Frostburg State University, serving as team captain for 2 years.
I have lifeguarded, taught swim lessons, been a waterfront director at a nature summer camp, and helped run the swim instruction program at WVU, so needless to say, swimming has been a huge part of my life.
As I gear up to start my Ph.D. this fall, I’m so excited to spend this summer teaching our Master Marlins technique, endurance, and speed skills. I can’t wait to foster a welcoming, supportive environment that encourages each athlete and cultivates teamwork, sportsmanship, and dedication. We are going to have a great summer!"
Hello!
For those of you who haven’t met me, My name is Lucas Miller. I was a swimmer on the Marlins when I was younger and was even a coach for the Minis two years ago. When I first joined the Marlins I was placed in the Sharks group, which is one of the reasons I'm very excited to Coach sharks this summer (a full circle moment!)
I swam competitively for 7 years, and competed in States for 3 years. I have also been Coaching for 3 years. Im excited to dedicate my time and knowledge to guide the swimmers this season!"
“Hi my name is coach Lucas and I will be leading our stingrays program this summer! As a lifelong Marlin, I love watching everyone’s competitive spirit and fun, loving attitudes towards both physical activity and building community.
This summer I hope to learn all of our new Marlins as well as see all of our returning swimmers succeed, and reach new milestones in their swimming career.
One message I have for all of our swimmers new and old is get ready to have your dancing shoes on all summer!”
Hi! My name is Lexy Stephens, and I will be one of the Minis Marlin coaches this summer.
I am currently a sophomore at Spring Mills High School where I am a varsity swimmer and volleyball player. This past winter, I qualified for the WVSSAC state swim meet where I competed in the 50 free, 100 back, and two freestyle relays.
I have been swimming with the Marlins for ten years. Last summer, I had the opportunity to coach the Mini Marlins, and I’m excited to be back this year in a substitute role. I’m really excited to see everyone again this summer! Fins up!
